Hi, I'm Jess, the person behind Meraki Mountain Trading Co.
The mountains got ahold of me young, and no matter how far life has taken me from them, some part of me has always been trying to get back. Give me a mountain road, a couple of dogs, a full tank of gas, and somewhere I've never been, and I'm pretty happy.
But most of life doesn't look like that.
Most days have more alarm clocks than mountain roads, more grocery runs than road trips, and more shit that needs doing than time to disappear somewhere for a while. Meraki Mountain was born somewhere between that life and the one I find myself daydreaming about.
Meraki means to do something with soul, creativity, or love, to put a piece of yourself into what you do. That idea is at the heart of everything I make here.
Meraki Mountain Trading Co. is inspired by mountains, road trips, dogs, campfires, questionable decisions involving back roads, and the places that remind us there's a much bigger world outside our everyday routines. Whenever I can, the things I make here begin with places I've actually been, photographs I've taken, stories I've brought home, and things that made me laugh somewhere along the way.
Some of the things you'll find here are funny. Some are sentimental. Some exist simply because they made me laugh and I wanted one myself. But they're all connected by the same idea: making a little more room in everyday life for the things that make you feel alive.
I'm not writing this from a luxury camper parked beside an alpine lake. I'm building this while living a regular life, working a regular job, and slowly figuring out how to spend more of mine doing the things I actually love.
